Overview

This is a collaborative program between the National Science Foundation and the Advanced Transportation Technology Initiative of the California Community Colleges Economic & Workforce Development Program.

The Hydrogen Development & Safety Seminar was created to provide an introduction and overview of the opportunities and challenges that California faces as it undertakes the conversion to a Hydrogen-based economy. This seminar is also a direct result of the Advanced Transportation Technology Instructional Guides and Training Modules developed with National Science Foundation Grant Funding.

Hydrogen industry professionals will present on a variety of subjects with the central theme being Hydrogen Development Issues, Safety and Handling, Codes & Standards, Fuel Production and Dispensing, Fueling Facility Permitting and Construction, as well as other key issues. Additionally, a decision making tool will be presented that fleet managers and administrators may use to help assess the preparation necessary for adding hydrogen vehicles to their fleets.

This targeted seminar has been developed for private, government and military fleet managers and administrators; transit agencies; elected officials and government decision makers; construction industry professionals; union officials; architects and engineers; green building councils; building officials; fire officials; safety officials.
